On Thursday February 19th, Lower Dauphin Mini-THON held their annual students vs. teachers basketball game to raise money for Four Diamonds in the fight against childhood cancer.
The game was extremely close up to the final whistle. The students came out on top 34-30, beating the teachers for the first time in over a decade.
Syler Campbell was named the student MVP, following a huge performance, scoring 16 points with multiple beyond the three-point arch.
Student players Max Hoopes and Matteo Cangialosi both chipped in big for the win.
“Last night’s game was incredible. There was great participation from both teams, and great announcers and coaches from a few of our captains and battle for diamonds contestants. The student section was filled and our committee members did a great job putting the event together,” said executive Sophia Howes.
Luke Brown, an executive for Lower Dauphin Mini-THON said, “this is always one of our biggest fundraisers leading up to Mini-THON. Last night definitely did not disappoint.”
Lower Dauphin Mini-THON is being held from 7am March 6th- 7pm March 7th. Anyone interested in attending must complete a parent permission form and raise $75.
