Dr. Gregory Milbrand has had a long educational background, as he is entering LD from his previous role as the Cumberland Valley School District’s assistant superintendent. In his earlier years, Milbrand was a teacher at Central Dauphin, a middle school principal in Halifax, and a Curriculum Director at East Pennsboro.
Milbrand shares that his wife is a seventh grade social studies teacher at Central Dauphin. He has two adult children, loves to play golf, and watch the New York Yankees.
“I’m so blessed and honored to be here at Lower Dauphin, and I can’t wait to get started,” says Milbrand.
Milbrand’s father was the high school band director at Central Dauphin HS for 36 years and inspired him. He followed his father’s footsteps to pursue a career in education. “As I was growing up, I was always around kids and just grew to love connecting with kids and making a difference in their lives.”
When asked why he chose to join Lower Dauphin, Milbrand continued to highlight how “awesome” the students, staff, families, and community of Lower Dauphin are, and the support he and his peers receive from the community.
Milbrand’s short-term goals include getting to know people. “Listen, listen, and listen some more, I think is my entry plan here.”
Milbrand says he is actively working on a big, comprehensive plan to help guide the district in its direction for the future. The plan involves staff, administration, students and community members. “I’m excited to be a part of that, and lead that.”
The long-term goals and areas for improvement that Milbrand has for Lower Dauphin include budgets, revenue, and construction projects.
Milbrand added that Lower Dauphin is “a great place to be.”
“The students are the heart of our mission,” says Milbrand.
