How to Fall Asleep Easier

Minda R.

Something that many people struggle with is falling asleep at night. No matter how tired you are, it can be difficult to turn your brain off. Something that can help you with your struggles, is controlled deep breathing. Doing this is scientifically proven that it can calm your body and your mind. When you change the rhythm of your breathing it slows your heart rate, reduces blood pressure and stimulates your “rest and digest” system, helping take away any anxiety that you could be struggling with. A second solution that could help you with falling asleep is meditation. Using meditation can help calm the body and the mind. Many studies show that it can help perfectionists stop judging themselves and work on themselves. One study says that thirty minutes of meditation can produce a calming change in the brain. Another solution is visualization. Visualization is when you picture a calm and peaceful spot in your mind’s eye and fill it with specific objects, colors and sounds. You can also do progressive muscle relaxation, stretching and making sure that you don’t go to bed worrying about things.
