Hersheypark’s Dark Nights have definitely gotten an upgrade from last year. Two more haunted houses and more lights-out rides will definitely increase the profit and enjoyment at Hersheypark.
Last year, Hersheypark started a Halloween event called “Dark Nights” which included 3 haunted houses and multiple “scare zones” where there were jumpscares and even fire!
This year, Hersheypark has expanded the hours and days that Dark Nights are open along with adding more than 50 different cocktails. They also added more Halloween themed treats for guests to enjoy.
Dark Nights is open starting Sept 5 until Oct. 29. On Fridays, they are open 5-10pm. On Saturdays, 12-10 pm and Sundays, 12-9pm. But the Dark Nights haunting time starts every night at 6 and goes until an hour after the park closes.
After the huge success from the haunted houses last year, Hersheypark decided to add two more to the event this year.
The first haunted house is called Auntie Mortem’s Abattoir. This house has a backstory and theme of a woman named Ethel Mortem. Ethel is a meat processor but the bones don’t really give off the animal type.
The second house is called Haunted Coal Mine: Curse Of The Tommyknockers. This haunted house is about miners and Tommyknockers protecting their gold in the coal mines.
The third house is called Creatures Uncaged. Creatures Uncaged is about a Professor named Professor Darkstone. His creatures escaped the cages and are now on the loose and ready for a new audience as they are hungry for more victims.
The fourth house is called The Descent: Catacombs Of Decay. This haunted house is a journey through tunnels to see what is trapped inside the past of the monster.
The fifth house is called Twisted Carnevil. This story takes place inside a carnival tent where you should be careful of the venom and not be hypnotized.
Dark Nights has definitely taken a dark but successful turn this Halloween season.
