Corey Miduri has been one of Lower Dauphin’s finest runners in both track and field and cross country during his high school career. As his high school career has come to a close and he will move on to race at East Stroudsburg, let’s take a look back at some of what Miduri says are his most memorable moments in his high school running career.

Miduri’s first time placing first on his own team came in a dual meet against Mechanicsburg his freshman year. The moment holds a bittersweet place in his heart, Miduri reminisced, as “it was the last race before my calf injuries.”

Miduri got another shot at Mechanicsburg his junior track and field season. The meet was at home, and it was another important step in his evolution as a runner. “It was another great meet,” Miduri said.

The prestigious Carlisle invitation was one to remember for Miduri. He was invited his senior year of cross country, and ran a 16:24.9 in the 5k, good for 32nd place out of 257 of the top runners in the state. The time also happened to be Miduri’s personal best.
“[The Carlisle invitation] was in the top two of my strongest and smartest races I’ve ever ran,” Miduri remembered, “It was also my last race before I injured my right knee and was taken out of states.”
Lebanon Valley College was the site of one of Miduri’s indoor track competitions this past winter. The meets there are different from outdoor track, but still a good way to prepare and compete. “It was a pretty laid back meet,” Miduri said, “but a lot of fun.”

The last race of Miduri’s high school career was a special one. It came at Mid-Penns, and is the second race that he considers to be among his best (the first being the Carlisle invitational shown above). “I ran a personal best in the 3200m in a time of 9:49.69 and placed 5th in Mid-Penns,” Miduri recalled.
