This College Field Hockey season has been anything but boring. Many teams have either upset a top-ranked team or have gotten upset.
On September 7th, Penn State beat Saint Joseph’s in overtime, with the final score being 2-1. Saint Joseph’s is ranked 13th and Penn State is ranked 17th. Saint Joseph’s was also previously in the national championship game last year.
Last week, Boston University upset Boston College. Boston College is number four ranked nationally. This loss came in overtime and the final score was 1-0 Boston University.
Brynn Michael, a freshman goalie says, “ The game was a complete game by both goalies. Both of them played great. It was so fun to watch the very defensive style of game.”
Lily Rost, a junior forward says, “ This game was very fun to watch. It was high paced and intense.”
This week there are some top twenty five matchups to be on the lookout for.
On Friday, September 19th, Penn State takes on Maryland, Iowa takes on Indiana, and Boston College takes on Virginia.
