Roller-Skating: A Fun New Way of Exercising!

Minda R.

Many people have picked up going for walks to take breaks from work, relieve stress, or even just to burn some calories. However, with the weather warming up, walking might become uncomfortable in the hot heat, so starting to roller-skate might be better for you. Roller-skating is a cardio and a strength-training full body workout. One positive side about roller-skating is that you do not need to workout for thirty to sixty minutes to get a positive effect, according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, only five minutes is needed to begin to stimulate the anti-anxiety effects. When you push off with one foot, you are using your glutes, hamstrings, quads and calves every time that you pick up a foot. Before you start roller-skating, you might want to invest in some safety gear. You might risk falling and injuring yourself, therefore some people start off wearing a helmet and knee pads.
