The First Chapter of Computer Science NHS

Alex G.

Mrs. Kisscadden, the school’s computer programming and Algebra one teacher, has kick started the first chapter of the Lower Dauphin Computer Science National Honors Society. The goal of this society is to bring more awareness and diversity into computer science, and to let students know that Lower Dauphin offers these classes.

Coming up on April 23rd, the Computer Science National Honors Society has a Day of Code at the Lower Dauphin Middle School. This is a family event to participate in  plugged (technology based) and unplugged (non-technology based) activities. The goal of these activities is to show how technology has become such a big part of society, and how things could be done without these technologies. This day of code is part of their service project, along with spreading awareness and bringing diversity. They will also be hosting a community day, the date is still to be determined.
