Fall Captains: Soccer

Morgan S.

  1. What does being captain mean to you?
  2. What is a goal either you or your team is trying to accomplish by the end of the season?

Girls’ Soccer

Payten Kirk-

  1. “Being a captain means a lot to me because I love pushing the younger kids to be a better player and a better person at the same time.” “Leadership has to start from somewhere, and when it starts from me being a captain, it helps push them to be a leader.”
  2. “A goal for the season is to overall become a better player for the upcoming next season.” Kirk wants “to have better teamwork” and a “stronger connection”, as well as “make it past the first round of districts.”

Jamie Swartz-

  1. “Being a captain is an opportunity for me to help improve and branch out to younger kids”, as well as “stepping in and leaving the role for the next captain to come in with high standards.”
  2. “Have the team get better and make the season memorable.

Boys’ Soccer

Adam Fellin-

  1. “Being a captain is being a leader on and off the field and setting a good example in the classroom.” “Being the first to practice, setting the intensity, and being someone people can look up to,” are all things Fellin feels are important as a captain.
  2. “We had a tough loss last year in district semi’s, this year we are working very hard to get back to that spot.” After losing many key senior players from last season, his team is “looking to prove people wrong.”

Shaan Grewal-

  1. “Being a captain means that I can lead a team, but not just a team, a team brought together, a group of brothers, like a family.”
  2. “Keep winning and build up chemistry and even win districts or even states.”
