Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz had a rough 2020 campaign that resulted in being benched for his backup, rookie Jalen Hurts.

Wentz was an MVP front runner back in 2017, before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of the season.

The Eagles seemingly moved on from Wentz, despite Hurts struggling as well.

With this trade, the Colts will get a starting-caliber quarterback that can be one of the best in the game, especially when behind a top offensive line, like the Eagles had in 2017.

The Eagles, on the other hand, will continue trying to rebuild their team after acquiring a 2021 third round pick and a conditional 2022 second round pick (ESPN).

The 2022 second round draft pick will become a first round draft pick if Wentz 75 percent or more of the snaps. It could also become a first round pick if Wentz plays just 70 percent of the snaps, but the Colts make the playoffs (Adam Schefter, ESPN).
