- Philadelphia Eagles
Despite a shaky win against the New England Patriots, the Eagles showcased that they were capable of dominating defenses in the first quarter. They have one of the most deadly passing games with AJ Brown and Devonta Smith who both can not be put in single coverage. Dallas Goedert was only targeted once during the Patriots win even though being a top 5 tight end. He will have to be put into single coverage due to having to double Brown and Smith. Jalen Hurts also had a breakout season last year and is set to take another step forward. They also have arguably the best offensive line in the game which makes their running game one of the best in the league, along with their passing game.
Their defense is also top notch with a top ten run defense last year and were the sack leader last year by a large margin. They also have 2 lockdown corners in Darius Slay and James Bradberry. They didn’t play the best against the Patriots with Kendrick Bourne scoring 2 touchdowns against them, but I am confident that they will return to last years form after a game or two.
- San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers absolutely ran over the Steelers in a 30-7 win which displayed that their defense has not taken a step back and that their offense is still very good despite not having the best quarterback. Their coach is probably the best out there right now. He created an offense that is unique and is almost impossible to stop. It allows almost any quarterback to be able to succeed against good teams. Their defense is the best in the league with starting defensive end Nick Bosa leading the way. They also have the best receiving and running back in Christian McCaffrey.
- Cincinnati Bengals
The Chiefs, Bills and Bengals all went down this week but I think the Bengals have the best chance to make it out of the AFC because the Chiefs took a big step back with losing Chris Jones has resigned from the team for a little bit but he will be back soon. The Chiefs defense without him for those couple games will be a problem because he was a huge part of the rushing defense and pressuring the quarterback. They also have only one decent receiving option in Travis Kelce while all the other ones can be guarded one on one and are very prone to drop the ball. The Bills just have not shown yet that they can compete in the playoffs. The Bengals have a great receiving core in Jamarr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. Their running back, Joe Mixon, is also a big threat for opposing defenses. Their quarterback Joe Burrow is considered top five in the league and is still on the rise. Their defense is not the best but it is capable enough to not get blown away from the top offenses.
