Hersheypark announces new rides

In 2020, Candymonium was introduced at Hersheypark as their 15th coaster. This year, Hersheypark is adding two new roller coasters to their amusement park for the 2022 season.

The first new roller coaster is Jolly Rancher Remix, but it’s not exactly new. Past visitors to Hersheypark may remember the Sidewinder, which was a roller coaster that raced through loops going either forward or backward.

The Jolly Rancher Remix is the Sidewinder, but with a fresh coat of paint and a new appeal: it features five different “flavor rides” that simulate a different flavor each time, such as Watermelon or Green Apple, with different music and lights. Hersheypark has added a “flavor tunnel” for the coaster to speed through on its way to the other side of the track.

And right in front of the Jolly Rancher Remix is Mix’d: Flavored by Jolly Rancher, a family ride. While doing 360° spins, the arms of the ride which hold the riders lift and drop, dodging the other riders. Then the ride switches to going backward, all while giving riders a great view of the Jolly Rancher Remix ride next door.

With two new rides that will be open in the summer, Halloween, and Christmas seasons of Hersheypark, this year is bound to be exciting for visitors. To learn more about this year at Hersheypark, go to https://www.hersheypark.com/.
