Many students in elementary and middle school struggle with schoolwork. As someone older, a high schooler is a great option for a tutor. For the high school student, it’s good to be able to earn a little extra money.

You can sign up online to be a tutor, and students from across the country can access your help remotely. Another option would be advertising your service and meeting up with younger students in-person.

If you want to get some experience tutoring before you get paid for the job, you can sign up for clubs like Study Buddies or Club Ophelia (both of these are with Lower Dauphin Communities that Care). If you looking into something like that for a career, taking courses at LDHS like Child Development could be a great way to get prepared for your future. Gaining education and experience on a subject is key.

All in all, tutoring is a great side hustle. You have the opportunity to make an educational difference in someone else’s life while making a financial difference in your own, and both you and your student will undoubtedly learn something from each other.
