Every November 11th we honor military veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces. This article was written to let people know what they can do to help this Veterans Day. It is important that we show appreciation for the members of the military who served and those who still serve. Because of them, we are able to enjoy the many freedoms we posses in this great nation.
The first thing you can do which may be obvious to some is put up an American flag. Remember to put it up correctly though, and if you have a POW/MIA flag, it is recommended that you raise that as well. Participate by showing up to Veterans Day events or donate to organizations that help veterans. Another thing you can do is talk with a Veteran. Learning about their stories and talking with them are great ways to make them feel appreciated. You can also visit a VA hospital. Many facilities on Veterans day have events and things you can help with to show gratitude.
