In the District 3, Class 5A first-round matchup versus the 9-6 Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers, the Falcons came away with a big win, advancing them to the quarterfinals on Friday, March 5.

Despite Lampeter-Strasburg getting the opening basket, Katie Weigle made a steal and assist to Lauren Hunter. Hunter would come away with a steal as well, assisting Lauren Kirsch who put the Falcons up 5-2.

The Falcons would continue that momentum throughout the rest of the game. The Pioneers would not go away that easily, however, with a 9-2 run in the third quarter.

That wouldn’t be enough as the Falcons would continue to control the momentum and come away with a big 21 point victory.

Katie Weigle finished the game with a team-high 23 points. Lauren Kirsch had eight points, Jamie Swartz had seven, Liv Weigher had six, Eva Day had five, Lauren Wahlers had four, and Lauren Hunter had three points (PennLive.com).

The Falcons will travel to Elizabethtown to take on the 13-3 Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
