Prison outbreak in Haiti

Ellie R.

On Thursday the 25th of February 2021 hundreds of inmates escaped from the Haiti prison, it was presumed that there were 25 casualties in total. After the inmates had escaped there had been people in local stores who had said that there were inmates in their stores who were forcing them to hand over clothes and other necessities. This is not the first time that in mates have escaped from this prison but in two years only 170 inmates totally have escaped. Many of the inmates who escaped had gotten free but few of them were killed. The leader of the prison was included in the 25 casualties. This  prison was designed to hold 872 inmates in total but before the breakout there was a total of 1,500 inmates being held in the prison.
