On Friday, November 14, Lower Dauphin’s Falcon Media classes visited York College for a journalism competition. The journalism class competed in writing competitions with other schools that attended, and every student was separated into different categories and had an hour to write.
The winners will be revealed in December or January.
“The competition taught me a lot about journalism and the other aspects taught me other things about photography that I will take with me for my future journalism projects,” says sophomore Jackie Powell.
“The field trip wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was really fun and a good learning opportunity,” says sophomore Abigail Foerster.
When the students were done writing, they were taught about photography with a slideshow about taking pictures. They even had a chance to take their own pictures around campus before finishing the day off with a free lunch in the cafeteria.
