This year’s musical is “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
“Joseph” is a musical retelling the biblical story of Jacob’s favorite son “Joseph.” “Joseph” is given a colorful coat, sold into slavery by his jealous brother. “Joseph” eventually rises to power in Egypt by interpreting dreams, bringing forgiveness and family unity. Full of dance numbers, high energy, as well as flashy and large scale production numbers.
“I’m excited for all of the dances and the one solo part that I have. It’s like a sung through musical, it’s different from what we have done before. It has no dialogue, it is all singing, “ says senior Paige Miller.
Lower Dauphin High School’s production of “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” runs from February 26th-March 1st. With 7pm shows on February 26th-28th, and a 3pm matinee show on Sunday March 1st.
“I’m very excited for this show, we the directors and production staff picked it specifically with our students in mind, which of course we always do. It’s very high energy and has a lot of musical styles like country, rock n’ roll, and there is an Elvis kind of number. There is also 70s music. I think that our cast is going to have fun with it. The whole show is also music. There is not a lot of talking. The ensemble is in I think 18 songs,” says music director Dr. Colpo.
The cast and crew of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is hosting an all you can eat spaghetti dinner Saturday February 7th, with a preview of the show included!
The cast would love it if you would come and support them, at both their Spaghetti dinner and performances for the 2026 season.
