“Mamma Mia” is a Jukebox musical about a young woman named Sophie who invited all three of her possible fathers to her wedding, without her mother’s knowledge. These three men were all a huge part of her mother Donna’s past, this results in some drama, but ultimately brings Sophie and Donna closer together. “Mamma Mia” uses popular songs by the band ABBA for example– “Dancing Queen” and “Super Trouper.”
Lower Dauphin High School performed our own rendition of “Mamma Mia” back in 2019. Dr. Colpo’s thoughts about “Mamma Mia” returning are, “It’s very exciting that “Mamma Mia” is coming back to Broadway, because it is a really fun show with really upbeat music. It also brings back fun memories from when we did it in 2019.”
