After hoisting up two PIAA Class 2A State Championship trophies, senior Will Sierer will have the chance to win another championship at the next level.

The star setter announced his commitment to Juniata College on February 10, a decision that made perfect sense to Sierer.

“It made the most sense financially and it seemed like the best fit for me team-wise and location-wise,”said Sierer on his choice.

The future Eagle could collect more hardware, only now in the NCAA, as Juniata is ranked first in the entire Division III level (per the February 14 AVCA Coaches Poll) and is a likely favorite to win the National Championship.

Additionally, Sierer is excited that the school is “very close to Lake Raystown. It will be fun to take trips there in the fall.”

The current Falcon stated that the biggest factor in his success as an athlete was LD Head Coach David Machamer. With Coach Machamer’s guidance, Sierer blossomed into the elite player and great leader that he is today.

“I think that [Sierer] is a good team leader. He has started varsity since he was a sophomore and is a well experienced veteran. Normally going into your senior year you don’t have three years of experience on varsity but he does. I think that he is one of the best teammates that I could ask for,” stated junior teammate Arun Gopinath.
