Charlie Fortney, senior receiver and safety at Lower Dauphin, has recently made his commitment to Shippensburg University to continue his football career and academic career.

Fortney ended his senior season with 682 total yards, seven touchdowns and 36 total tackles. Stats like those caught the eyes of scouts everywhere. Charlie picked up multiple Division 2 offers from all around the country ranging from Southeastern University to Lake Erie College.

Fortney said, “choosing Shippensburg means I can fulfill my dream of playing college football and that’s something I’ve dreamed of doing since a little kid.”

Fortney decided to go to Shippensburg University because he loved their head coach and the atmosphere over at Shippensburg. Coach Mark Maciejewski is confident in Fortney playing on both sides of the ball.

Charlie Fortney is prepared and excited to make some noise in one of the most competitive Division 2 conferences in the country.
