Yeat: music’s next big star

Tavian B.

Amidst all the new musical artists making their way to stardom, Yeat has been one of the most polarizing figures in the industry. Born in Portland, Oregon, Yeat began his music career during his time in high school. He began to move around during his youth, though he mainly credits his time in Los Angeles, California to his upbringing. Following his graduation, he spent a few years in Atlanta, Georgia, where he first began to make music. His career would stay under the radar until 2021 with the release of his album Alive. This album would be the first  bit of traction he would gain. He would then follow this up with 2 more albums 4L and Up 2 Më. Many credit tik tok to the rapid growth Yeat has experienced, with songs such as Monëy so big, Sorry Bout That, and Gët Busy all having millions of videos made them. Since then, Yeat has released 2 projects this year, those being his debut album 2 Alivë and his newly released EP Lyfë. Both of these projects charted Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 200 albums chart at #6 and #10 respectively. Along with this, Yeat has surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams earlier this year, and is only expected to reach even greater heights, following massive cosigns from artists such as Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, and more.
