Maddy Weaver to continue field hockey at The University of Vermont

Maddy Weaver, senior LD Field Hockey player, signed to the University of Vermont to continue her athletic and academic career. After an excellent season and winning the state title, the athlete plans to take her skills to another place. Weaver’s main reason for committing to Vermont was “I really like the coaches, the team, and I also really like the school’s atmosphere on the campus.” For Weaver to receive this offer, she must have shown a high level of skill this past season, but she is not only focused on herself. As she states about the previous season, “It went really well, I’m proud of everyone on the team, I’m thankful for our coaches, and I think we were just really successful because of our really good teamwork.”

Not only is Weaver a great player, but she is also a great person. As a fellow teammate of Weaver’s, Hannah McConnell states, “Maddy is a natural born leader, she’s a great teammate, is always there for her teammates and friends, someone you can laugh with, but always pushes her teammates to be the best person and player they can be.”

It is not every day that athletes get another opportunity to continue their athletic careers in a sport that they love so much, but Weaver acquired this chance through hard work and dedication.
