In December of 2022, the Saudi Arabian club by the name of Al Nassr signed one of soccer’s greatest, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Although Ronaldo is closing near retirement, this was a great idea by Al Nassr. Not only is Ronaldo bringing attention to the club, but he is also benefiting the team’s level of play.

Many believed that this signing was not a good choice as Ronaldo is said to be washed, but it was in fact a good idea. Although the price for the player may have been a little bit excessive, coming in at around €200 million per year, it was a smart move, and it was the biggest salary in football (soccer) history, giving him around one million euros per week. One of the main reasons that signing CR7 was a good idea was the amount of attention received. The attention that Ronaldo has brought to the team is amazing, and it helps to give a name to small clubs like Al Nassr.

In the most recent game, the Portuguese player put four goals on the board for Al Nassr, in a match against Al Wehda. These four would reach the club’s 500 league goals, and it would make this Ronaldo’s 61st hat-trick, so he is still playing well even at the age of 38. It is truly great though to be able to watch one of soccer’s best enjoy the game he plays, as with his former club, Manchester United, he was not as satisfied with how he was treated. Now, he can be seen smiling and having fun with the Saudi team, which he will most likely retire with.
