Top two Heisman Trophy Early Candidates
October 11, 2022
- C.J. Stroud- Stroud is an easy front runner for the Heisman trophy. Leading Ohio State to a hot 5-0 start, Stroud has been dominant all season. This past weekend against Michigan State, he finished 21 of 26 for 361 yards. Though Stroud threw one interception, his third of the season, he also threw six touchdowns. The six touchdowns helped him tie the school touchdowns record, bringing his season total to 25. Stroud has such a strong receiver core to help him get to where he needs to be to win this season’s Heisman Trophy.
- Hendon Hooker– Hooker is on one of the most electric teams in College Football in my opinion. The Tennessee Volunteers are sitting at 5-0 after demolishing LSU in Baton Rouge this past weekend, all led by their star quarterback. Hooker is putting up numbers that we haven’t seen since the Manning era. This season, the dual threat QB is sitting at 1,432 yards, with 10 total touchdown passes. Hooker is tied for leading the nation with 0 interceptions. He has the third best QBR in the nation at 90.4. This upcoming week the Vols will welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide to Rocky Top. This will be a huge game for the Vols, as Hooker looks to boost his Heisman Rankings. I think Hooker is one to watch when it comes to the end of the season for Heisman Finalists.
