Vandalism in the School Restrooms

Carly S.

Vandalism isn’t necessarily new to LDHS. For many years, students have been writing and drawing on restroom stalls, desks, and other items owned by the school. Most of the content is highly inappropriate and disrespectful to the building, students, and faculty.

Towards the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, a new trend took over the internet and made this issue worse. It was referred to as the “devious lick” challenge and it encouraged students across the nation to destroy and steal items from their schools. Unfortunately, this trend occurred at LDHS and was a massive issue for many months.

The school has taken action to control the vandalism issue by temporarily closing affected restrooms, removing graffiti from the restroom stalls, and putting consequences in place for students who participated in such actions.
