Should the MLB shorten the season?

Andrew B.

As the MLB Season goes on the fanbase of teams drop in attendance at games and seasonal fans seem to disappear. In the beginning of the season Opening Day brings a lot of excitement for the future games. When mid August is hit most fans are tired of seeing their team struggle or just ready for the post season causing the attendance to shift. In July the All Star Game and Homerun Derby bring huge waves of fans to watch the game again. Then they don’t come back until the postseason. As a big supporter of baseball and the MLB I think this is a problem and some adjustments need to be made. The season should be cut shorter. Currently the season is 162 games long. The season should be cut to 100 games. This will make the season more equal and the start date could be pushed back later Into warmer temperatures. This will also help with injuries. A shorter season will allow for players body’s to be more relaxed and not worried about the long run. Overall the MLB should shorten their season for the safety of the players and to bring more life to the game.
