The Duke basketball coach is retiring after this season. Mike Krzyzewski has been the head coach of Duke University’s basketball team for 42 years with a record of 1097-302. He has won five national championships and has won six gold medals. Coach K gained his first victory at Army on November 28, 1975 and ever since has been a winning man. He set a high standard for collegiate baseball, almost as Nick Saban set a standard for collegiate football.  Coach K is known for his incredibly good program and getting players to the next level. As a matter of fact, he has had 68 NBA draft selections with 42 first round picks. Krzyzewski also holds many records in the college basketball world. He has 15 ACC championships, most in league history, 97 NCAA tournament wins, most in NCAA history, and 67 ACC tournament wins, most in league history. Those are only a few of his achievements as a coach. Along with being the coach at Duke, he manned the sidelines for the USA basketball team for 38 years. He has captured 11 gold medals and 2 silver medals as a coach for the USA. In 2016 Coach K set another crazy record. He is the only basketball coach to lead a nation to three consecutive gold medals. In all, Coach Krzyzewski has had a very monumental career.
