Tis the season of Christmas cheer, family traditions, and endless time with family. Central PA is full of things to do around the holidays.

Just in our backyard there are plenty of things to do. With about 600 animated displays and lights, Hershey Sweet Lights is always a family favorite. It’s a holiday drive-thru that spreads through two miles of wooded trails. Sweet lights opening night was November 11 and will run until January 1st. They’re open daily from five pm and can last until eleven. Another family favorite is Hershey Park Christmas Candy lane. It’s opened for most of the month of December, but is closed for Christmas day. Tickets for one day admission cost $19 for ages three and up. Children that are two and younger get in for free. Another attraction that gathers a lot of people is Koziar Christmas Village, in Bernville PA. The Christmas Village is open every night in December to January 1st. Monday through Friday its open from six pm to nine pm. On Saturday they’re open five pm to nine thirty, and five to nine on Sunday. Children three and younger are free, ages four to ten cost $8, eleven to sixty four are $10 and seniors sixty five and older are $9.

Christmas Magic A Festival of Lights is a half-mile walking trail with over 600,000 colorful lights. The trail is at Rocky Ridge County Park just east of York. It’s open from November 25th through December 31st, but it is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas. It’s opened Monday through Friday from six pm to nine, and on the weekends from five pm to nine. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for ages four to twelve, free for children under four, and $7 for seniors ages sixty and up. Credit cards are not accepted, but there are ATM’s on site.

Spending time with your loved ones over the holiday does not always have to cost money. There are many things to do at home with families. Throughout the month of December there are a lot of Christmas movies on tv, staying home for the night relaxing and watching Christmas movies is always a favorite. The family tradition of looking for a Christmas tree and decorating it together is something the whole family looks for. Baking your favorite Christmas cookies beats going out into the cold.

The holiday seasons are the favorite for many people around, Central PA is full of fun and exciting things to do this Christmas seasons. Creating endless memories this Christmas season and continuing the traditions makes the holidays better.
